Amazon CAPEX development 2013-2024
Amazon invested $83 billion in property and equipment (CAPEX) last year. This is a significant increase compared to FY2013, when it invested $3.4 billion. Over the past 11 years, this represents an average growth rate of 33.5% CAGR. Meanwhile, Amazon's revenue grew at a CAGR of 21.6% during the 2013-2024 period, increasing from $74 billion to $638 billion.
Amazon expects to continue investing heavily in 2025, projecting $100 billion in CAPEX for the year. The majority of this investment will go toward improving Amazon's AI services and expanding its capacity.
